Jessica was born and raised in Western Maryland just below the Mason-Dixon line.

Always interested in the arts, she moved to Baltimore to study sculpture and received her bachelor’s degree from Towson University. Upon graduation she began working in costume shops to improve her sewing skills, and had the opportunity to observe leading designers, drapers, and artisans firsthand. A love for design and the theatre community was discovered. Jess moved on to study costume design at Yale University and received her MFA in 2004.

She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York and works in regional theatres nationally.
